A fraudster who dumped dead animals to rot in a field despite being paid by grieving pet owners to cremate them properly has been ordered to pay £75,000 or face jail. Swan Pit Pet Crematorium investigated for fraud

An investigation has been launched into a pet crematorium amid claims owners were given ashes from other animals while their dead pets were stored in a freezer. Enforcement officers from Staffordshire County Council visited Swan Pit Crematorium after complaints that customers had paid to have their pets cremated but had not received the ashes. A CONMAN made thousands of pounds taking horse-owners’ beloved animals away for supposed individual cremation but diverted the remains to the knacker’s yard instead.
